Hello Warrior Women!
I am Annalee Reid, founder and creator of TribalMamma. I began my journey to the birth world as a little girl running around with a Fisher Price doctor’s bag taking temperatures with my plastic thermometer. For whatever reason, I knew from then that I wanted to help babies come into this world. Turns out my grandmother was a midwife in Jamaica, but I didn’t find that out until fall of 2014.
I finished my undergraduate degree and became a Medical Laboratory Scientist in 2011, and then in the Summer of 2013 I fell in love with midwifery and started on the journey. The concept for TribalMamma was created in 2014 shortly after I completed my birth doula training. In the midst of doing some research to polish up a presentation on grounding techniques in labor for a community baby shower a light bulb went off! All of these movements that we were telling mammas to do were connected to tribal communities from around the world! Being a lover of dance, fitness, and a student midwife allowed me to bring these passions together to create a program for all of us warrior women.
I have a deep passion for my community which is demonstrated through my work with SuperMamma Birth Services. From public speaking on women’s health topics, to education for mammas and partners and contributing to research for improvement of fetal and maternal health; these are where my passions currently extend into… Well that and summoning the inner warrior in all of us!
Be well,
Annalee Reid, MLS (ASCP) (CM) , SM
